In 1986 two teenagers was 14 years old each, “problematics” and foolish they decided to form one band to distracting themselves and follow the same steps that one of their idols the group The Clash. With their noisy musical instruments they’ve made a hell song only with some chords based on the Punk Rock precepts the “Do it yourself”.

The problematics teenagers: Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt. The band: Green Day.

The band currently consists of Billie Joe Armstrong (vocals and guitar), Mike Dirnt (bass), Jason White (guitar) and Tré Cool (drums) the group with about 30 years of existence still showing, year after year, that your music roots keep the same but also keep renewing themselves each CD.

Green Day is an influence to diversify bands since Foo Fighters at My Chemical Romance. The band has had the Punk Style alive in its songs and every concert or CD they make any fan go to madness. The men who came of the Boulevard of Broken Dreams in a sunny day of Holiday with 21 Guns to show to the world a Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) and to prove that nothing is a Basket Case and the salvation can be a Jesus of Suburbia.

   

Of the craziest curiosities about the band we separated three for you:

- The Marijuana’s Day: the band name emerged after of the first Green Day’s musicians stay all the day smoking marijuana inside of a pizza’s car delivery. This way emerged the name Green Day that means a green day (of marijuana).

- Politic Conscience: the band already declared uncountable times all their hate for the United States of America and mainly to the ex-president George W. Bush (for who the band made the song and the CD: American Idiot). All income of the song Boulevard of Broken Dreams of the American Idiot cd it was donated to the hurricane Katrina victims in 2005. In 2002 the band collected over than seven thousands subscriptions against the Iraq’s war.

- Punk Attitude: during a Green Day’s concert one man in audience screamed offensive things to the band. Billie Joe stopped the concert and asked to the man take the stage to fight. The man refuse and staid offending the band, then Billie Joe jumped off the stage with both feet on the man’s face. End of story and the concert staid!
